My Supports

Each of us, regardless who we are needs supports from others in order to live optimally and healthily.  Only a fool thinks that he / she could survive well without supports from others.  I just could not imagine how could I live on if supports are taken from my life.  I would feel handicapped and vulnerable if all my supports were gone.

The supports that I current receive on daily are a few and crucial.   First and foremost is God’s support, which I believe, my life would lack meaning and purpose without it .  I depend on God for strength and direction, as well as wisdom.  When encountering problems or challenges, especially in my work, I seek His help and guidance.  I would feel relieved and encouraged after sending my petitions to God.  My wife’s support is crucial to me, as well.  I am able to pursue and achieve my dreams in my life, like studying this Master program, partly are due to the moral and physical support from my wife.  She always believes in me that I can do it.  When I need to have quiet time to do my assignments, she would make sure our baby would not come and disturb me.    In addition to these supports, my boss’s financial and physical support is important too, as it makes my work less stressful and gets motivated to strive on.

The biggest challenge I think I am facing now is to operate an authentic and effective early childhood program in my region.  It is not to be run by myself alone.  It requires a collective effort from every stakeholder, e.g., the school board, teachers, supporting staff, and families of students.  Financial support is needed from the school board, so that we can pay well to our teachers in carrying out their professional work.  All the staff at the center need to offer necessary physical and emotional support that fosters development and learning of children.   In-service training needs to be provided from time to time for the competency of the staff.  Family support in the form of family engagement is crucial to the effectiveness of early childhood program.  These various supports are needed very much in helping me to make the early childhood program a success.  I am doomed to failure without all these supports from the stakeholders.
